It was busy, it was full, but in the end, it came out perfectly! Dinner was great, everyone ate too much, the conversation was good, and all went home satisfied. :) What more could I want.

Raven: Merry, Merry!

Don't stress out too much with the dinner. It somehow always seems to come together.

I'll send you an e-mail soon about your story. I've been having computer problems.

And a very merry, to you, too!

Everything went just fine! :) And everyone ate much too much. Which I consider to be a compliment. :)

Ah, you probably still only have about half of the story. I should send you what I've written up till now. I look forward to your opinion, whenever you have time - and your computer complies. ^^

Thank you, it did - more or less. The potato dumplings weren't as perfect as they should have been, but the rest went off without a hitch. I was only sad that my brother couldn't come - but he was home with a bad cold. *sigh*

Despite the stress, I love doing the dinner for the family on the second Xmas day. It used to be that my mother was responsible for everything, until we moved into this house. Now I have enough space to host everyone, and it's not so far from Munich as the old one was.

So, a new tradition was born. ^___^

Hope your holidays were free of stress, too, and you got to enjoy them. :)

I'm not sure you could call them 'stress free', but since we actually were the idiots ones broke down and finally got the kid a cat... I guess you could call it self-induced stress? *sigh*

A... cat? >.>

Are you sure you know what you're getting yourself into?

No, I did not. *sigh* I have never in all my life seen a more high maintenance animal! >_<; Some cats are just not right for certain homes, and I think this one isn't really 'ours', you know what I mean? But the kid has bonded and there's just no way.

I know *just* what you're talking about. Since we brought back Oskar from Italy, we've lost a variety of objects through breakage, now have two litter boxes standing in seperate parts of the house - and still have to clean up 'stuff' every day, because one of the other cats doesn't want to share the box with Oskar -, chase after him every time we open the front door etc.

Then there's the food that the cat will disdain, the furniture it will use as a scratching post, the books it will throw off the shelf, the places it will get into - but not out of - the clothes it will shed on, the carpets it will pee on and...

...do you want me to continue? *grin*

He... ate a chair today. >_<; Can't I change my mind and opt for a gold fish? Can't I, please?

Oh, is that all? He didn't turn your newspaper into confetti yet - before you've read it, of course? And pee into your bathtub or kitchen sink? And walk along the shelves in your living room, punting every breakable object off the shelf? Or climb up on the top of your wardrobe, to jump down onto you while you walk by? Or nab your freshly cooked potatoes to use either for eating or as a plaything?

Well... then you'll have interesting times ahead of you. Hrhrhrhr...

Bathtub? I wish it was the bathtub. His first day here, he was freaked out by the litter box liner and we didn't realize it. So he peed in our bed. =_=

In the bed!? Oh Gods! At least none of mine has done that, even though one of the females has decided to use my bedroom floor instead. *sigh* Have to clean that up before I go to bed...

Well, sounds like you have many years of fun and games ahead of you. *snicker*

Thank God it didn't get clear through the mattress pad, but I had to completely strip the bed and wash EVERYthing. No problems in THAT area since we pulled the stupid cat box liners out (why hubby thought THAT was a good idea, I'll never know... those things have never worked for any cat we've ever owned!)
Now if he would just stop getting into everything that isn't nailed down.
And if we just didn't own so much crap that isn't nailed down... *whimper*
