*headdesk*

So. Dinner was very nice, especially since it was the first nice, warm summer evening that's we've had this year. Almost all the family was there, only one of my sisters had to beg off, because it was too far for her to drive. Tacos were excellent as always - I love them, but hate the mess associated with making/eating them. So I don't mind waiting a year to have them at my mother's. ^^

Cilli begged off early, she hadn't really had any sleep the night before, since she and her classmates had celebrated her farewell party down by the river near the boarding school, the evening before. The others also left not too late, so in the end it was my mother, her husband, Oxana (my folks' Au Pair) and I on the terrace, in the dark, enjoying a last glass of wine or water. And then we saw the first fireflies of the summer! One even sat in my mother's hair for a while, blinking on and off all the time. That was really funny! :)

Drove home today during the Germany vs. England soccer game, because the roads were free. Wanted to see the rest of the game at home. Got home, turned on the TV and wasn't getting any satellite reception. Fiddled around with the receiver and everything, until I finally thought to check the sync on the satellite. It was way down. That usually means I have to go outside and cut it free from the rose and the elderbush that's growing right around and under and behind and in front of the dish. So I'm cutting and cutting and digging my way deeper into the two bushes and I cut some more and suddenly, there's a bit of cable hanging down! >.> I'd cut right through the cable going from the dish to my renter's room. *headdesk* It was intertwined with the rose so I hadn't seen it in time... *sigh* He's not here at the moment, but when he gets back, we'll have to put in a replacement cable.

*sigh*

That's what I get for wielding the cutter too enthusiastically... >.>

You fix cars with hammers, and now this. I sincerely hope you never get your hands on a chainsaw. :) Glad you had a lovely evening, and I hope Cilli got a chance to rest.

Um. *helpless snickering* You do know what 'renter' is English slang for, don't you?

Just wait - I have to cut the hedge starting tomorrow! And yes, I've used chainsaws before! *ggg*

Yeah, Cilli slept in until 12:30 or so... *gg* I watched her sleep, which was nice. :)

Eh... nooooo... *looks confused*

Cutting the hedge? Um, I think I'll maybe keep Cloud a safe distance away today. LOL

Aw. You're really gonna miss her, huh?

*snickers* Renter = male prostitute.

Didn't get around to it today. But I will sometime this week, so he better stay home for now. :)

Yeah. Didn't think so - seeing as she's away all week in boarding school. But I *do* usually see her on the weekend, and during school vacations. But now... 5 months... *sigh* Now I'm glad I didn't insist that she go for the 10 month duration! O.o

Oh...

OH!

*blush*

I'll... remember that one... >.>

Sephy: *nods*

Cilli must be very independent. She'll be fine and have a blast and miss you so much that she'll return home appreciating you more than ever.

HA HA! Enjoy your renter, dear. *snickers helplessly*

Yes, she is. It's what we've always pushed. For her to stand on her own two feet. Only... now that she does... *sigh* It's this little 'pang' in my heart that says "my baby is going out into the wicked wicked world, and she's aaaaaalllll alone...".

^^

Pffft...

Naah... definitely not this one... *shudders*

Well well, if it isn't the well tempered one. ;)
But as long as you don't cut the connection to the internet everything else is fine. You might consider placing the next cable into a tube.

You know, for a moment there I was worried that I *had* cut the internet connection! O.o But I think that cable runs inside the house.

Yeah, I think a bright red tube might be a good idea. Grey cables twined in with green, grey and brown rose branches is not a good one...

*ggg*

I *was* cutting around in that thicket madly, pulling out bits and pieces of elder and rose until... I held a bit of cable instead.

*headdesk*

Oh well... have to wait until my... tenant... gets back, so we can attach a new one for him.
