She's home... ^^

Half an hour ago, my daughter finally made it home!

She was so tired, that she went straight to bed. ^^ So all talk and unpacking and re-acquainting will have to wait until tomorrow!

But she and Grandpa made it safely down here - even though it took over six hours for a distance that you can usually do in four. The snow still hasn't stopped and roads are just inundated with the stuff. So slow driving was the order of the day. Better safe, than sorry...

Very strange to know she's in her room again. Sleeping. At home. Will be there when I wake up tomorrow...

I'm glad to have her back... ^___^

Ooh, tell her we said welcome home!

Cloud: "YAY!"

Yeah, must be odd to have her back after she was away so long. LOL, and back from sunny Australia to find snow!

I'll tell her... tomorrow. ^^ She's fast asleep by now!

*HUGS Cloud* ^___^

Yeah, I have to get used to the idea of having her here again. >.> I'd turned up the heat in her room, made sure she had enough blankets and gave her a good dose of Vitamin C and Zinc the moment she walked through the door.

Actually... she likes snow (unlike me...) because she loves to ski! :)

There is something really safe and comforting in knowing that your child is home and okay even if you are used to not having them live with you anymore.

Yes! Very much so! I confess that I was worried all the way until she finally got out of the car and said 'hi'.

She had a *very* good time! ^____^

So much so, that she didn't want to come back... >.> But now that she's back in school, she's got her friends and things are settling down to normal.

She *didn't* tell me about the thing with the shark until *after* she got home... O.o

Yupp! That was pretty much my reaction!

She'd *told* me that there'd been a shark sighting at the beach when she was there, just a few days before she came back home.

What she *DIDN'T* tell me was: she and her friends were in the water, fairly far out from the beach, since the water is deeper there. The shark warning came up (flags and sirens and everything) and they were told (by bullhorn) to stay where they were and to *NOT MOVE*! So they did. Then the lifeguards put a boat to water and fished all of the people out, that were too far away. (Because if you swim, you move and so make yourself more attractive to the shark.) And *just* as they'd pulled Cilli into the boat, *THE SHARK SWAM RIGHT BY THE BOAT*!!! O.O

That was the part she *didn't* tell me about...

*heart attack*

Indeed! O.O

Well, it's certainly an experience she will *never* forget. >.> Nor I...
