Good morning everyone! ^___^

Well... ok... more like good almost lunchtime. ;)

I had *wanted* to get up at 8 am. But I slept pretty badly last night and for some reason (well, ok, I sleep with earplugs, so that *might* have something to do with it) I didn't hear the alarm until it had been going for about 45 minutes... >.> Woke up at 8:45 am instead. So of *course* I didn't get started writing until *much* later than I wanted to. *sigh*

BUT...

I didn't do too badly. Took me well over an hour, hour-and-a-half, but there we are... :)

That is a really good start.

Thank you! Let's hope I can keep it up. But 1000 words are a doable goal. Not too much and not too little. At worst, I just write up the scene and do the revision on the next day, if I can't find the *right* words...

Writing is like any other skill, the more you do it the better you get at it.

Indeed! And I also notice that when I don't do it for a while, I suddenly don't have ideas anymore, the muse won't talk to me, words don't come easily and I get more and more reluctant to even *start* writing something.

So Stephen King isn't wrong when he says you have to write *every* day. >.>

I think he might have nailed that.

I think he did! Because when I *don't* write every day, my brain seems to shut down. When I do, then I'll walk out of the shower with the beginning of the next paragraph bouncing around inside my head...

It's weird how that works.

Like you're losing definition in a long unused muscle. I think the brain really *does* need regular feeding and exercise...

I totally agree with that. It is one of the reasons I am trying to read more non fiction or challenging fiction. With most of my day things are at a first grade level so there needs to be a balance or I am going to turn into a blubbering idiot.

You're right. I already realized that I was reading *much* too much either Fanfiction or Fantasy. Time to dig up some variety. Which, looking at my library, is *not* difficult to do. ^___^;
