Oops!

One should not put rice to boil on the stove in the kitchen, and then return to the computer in the office on the first floor...

Thank the Gods I remembered in time! The kitchen looked like a steam room, the top of the stove was liberally inundated with rice-starch water but... the rice was done perfectly and nothing had burned!

*gg*

And the rice salad (with pineapple, thinly sliced turkey breast, a dressing of yogurt with curry paste and chopped, fresh Vietnamese coriander leaves) was absolutely perfect! :)

In the end it all worked out perfectly which was the important thing.

Yes, it did!

Still have to do some cleaning, since I wanted to wait until the glass cooking field had cooled down before going to work on it, but everything else came out ok.

And I ate it all! ^___^

I once fell asleep boiling eggs. They exploded and made holes in the ceiling when the water ran out. ^_^

Gods! Did they really? O.O Oh wow!

I'm just glad I caught the rice in time, because it was in a little plastic bag and at some point in time it would have started melting, I think...

That's what I get for going back to the computer instead of watching my cooking. *gg*

They made a very loud noise, too. ^_^'

I put everything on a timer. I am queen of wandering off and forgetting. The bell will even go off and I'll go, "Was I cooking something...?"

I used to do the bag thing until I bought bismanti rice. Small, nonstick pot with a lid, one cup of rice, water, tight lid, bring to a boil, then simmer, about sixteen-eighteen minutes... or until it's a bit slidey, but you don't see any water... and it's done, perfect, and is really good.
