Cilli begged off early, she hadn't really had any sleep the night before, since she and her classmates had celebrated her farewell party down by the river near the boarding school, the evening before. The others also left not too late, so in the end it was my mother, her husband, Oxana (my folks' Au Pair) and I on the terrace, in the dark, enjoying a last glass of wine or water. And then we saw the first fireflies of the summer! One even sat in my mother's hair for a while, blinking on and off all the time. That was really funny! :)
Drove home today during the Germany vs. England soccer game, because the roads were free. Wanted to see the rest of the game at home. Got home, turned on the TV and wasn't getting any satellite reception. Fiddled around with the receiver and everything, until I finally thought to check the sync on the satellite. It was way down. That usually means I have to go outside and cut it free from the rose and the elderbush that's growing right around and under and behind and in front of the dish. So I'm cutting and cutting and digging my way deeper into the two bushes and I cut some more and suddenly, there's a bit of cable hanging down! >.> I'd cut right through the cable going from the dish to my renter's room. *headdesk* It was intertwined with the rose so I hadn't seen it in time... *sigh* He's not here at the moment, but when he gets back, we'll have to put in a replacement cable.
*sigh*
That's what I get for wielding the cutter too enthusiastically... >.>
