Here I am, back not only from my vacation, but also from our annual fall convention, the Connichi in Kassel.
I have a wonderful four weeks down in Italy. As always, the time there was much too short. *sigh* I posted a few pics over on Deviant Art, but I will be making an Italy post in the next few days. Just have to resize the pics for that. :)
Connichi was good, too. We upped our sales from last year, so that's good. We're still not rolling in money, though... >.> But the combined publishing company is working out really well, so I do think we have a chance on the market, even while up against the big publishers here in Germany.
I tried going back through LJ, but it's possible that I missed a post or two. If there's anything of interest, just point me in the right direction.
I *did* read the Facebook controversy and added my comment there. I'm glad that LJ has reconsidered its tactics. While I *am* on FB (mostly so I can keep in touch with my daughter), I don't want anything of mine reposted there. There is a reason why I am on LJ... permanently... :)
As always, while I'm gone, things happen...
While I was away, my still-husband managed to fall down the stairs and shatter his calcaneus (heel bone). He is now in the hospital for the fourth week and might be coming home on Friday. I've already offered to take him in until he can walk better again, since I can make up the couch in the living room for him, and he wouldn't have to walk any stairs.
Also, on Saturday, a week ago, Puntino (cat no. 3) must have met with a car or something, since he came home with a broken pelvis. He also spent a few days in the veterinary clinic, but is now home and supposed to heal naturally. Problem is: he wants to go outside and play... *sigh* I'm supposed to keep him inside for the next six weeks. We'll see how that goes...
Now I have to try to catch up with five weeks of mail and stuff that has been left undone.
So. I hope you're all well!
More about Italy, and pics, later. :)

The Choir and I LOVED our postcards, thank you! Cloud carried his around for two days, making it fly around his head, before he let Sephy put in on the wall next to their bed.
Cloud: "HUG!" *glomp*
*is very happy* *very broad grin*
I'm glad you all liked. I was very careful to choose the right cards for everyone.
*HUGS Cloud back*
They're very pretty butterflies, aren't they? :)
I *saw* lots of lovely butterflies, but I couldn't photograph any of them, because I'd forgotten my telephoto lens at home, and they never sat still long enough for me to get close with my regular one... ;__;
But I *did* photograph two little 'dragons' (=lizards) that came to visit me every day. I'll be putting pictures of those up in my Italy post, once I'm done with it... :)
Hm... Did I meet Italy? I'd have to say yes. Italy was everywhere. ^^ And we didn't just *talk* about pasta, we *ate* pasta. Lots of it! In all kinds of wonderful variations.
Despite that, I didn't gain any weight. ^^
I think I've let Cloud watch too much Hetalia. :) Butterflies and yummy pasta, sounds fabulous.
Cloud: "Little dragons!" *bounce* "I visited your dragons while you were gone. They've gotten big!"
I had my nose stuck too deep in a book for rescuing... :)
Sounds like he's really gotten into the series! :) Yes, the food was, as always, totally delectable.
Thank you, Cloud, for looking after my dragons! I've thought about trying to see whether I can't have two of them mate to produce new eggs... What do you think?
Cloud: "Baby dragons! YAY!"
And the pasta is divine, of course. ^^
Hm... you tell me which two should mate, ok? ^__^
Poor Puntino (and your still-husband). I hope they both feel better, soon.
Glad the postcard reached you. :) Capri is wonderful! All that blue, blue sea all around... *sigh*
Well... just a little bit... ^^
I'm doing my best to get both 'men' back on their feet, asap. ^^
*HUGS back* ^^
- my brother, who smashed his cheekbone against the edge of his bathtub and had to have it surgically repaired
- my husband and his heelbone - he is now proud owner of a myriad of screws and plates in his foot
- my cat, who's trying to convince me he's fine while stumbling about in my office
*sigh*
Enough already...
I'll get to the pics, don't worry. Just a little more time for fiddling... ^^
