First snow...

We've had some snow before, but this is the first proper one...

My garden:

My street:

I had to shovel the snow off the sidewalk... >.

It looks pretty. I hope you don't have to do a lot of driving today. Snow is easier to appreciate when you don't have to go anywhere.

So far, I have no plans to go anywhere. For which I'm quite grateful. I'm supposed to go to the post office, but I'll see if I can't just postpone that until tomorrow. It will take that long for the community workers to get the snow off the streets...

I'd rather look at it than shovel it, too. >.<

But, since I'm the only one bodily capable of doing so here in the house, I guess I'm it...

Beautiful! I have sooo much envy. We're still waiting for ours, though much of the rest of the UK seems to have it!

To be honest, I could do without!

Especially since I'm the one that has to shovel it... >.<

On the other hand, it's good for the garden - protects the plants from the cold. And yes, once the sun comes out (maybe tomorrow) it will be beautiful! :)

Ah... I read that in the UK you're waiting to be inundated! I hope it doesn't get too bad for you! Stay safe, hm?

A lot of places already are, but not where I live! More on the way, apparently. Temperatures are positively arctic, my kitties are making darts outside for necessary things and then darting straught back in!

Hope you don't have to do too much more shovelling!

It's still snowing, but slowing down. If the temperatures drop, then we won't have any more snow, because it will be too cold.

I kept the cats indoors today - which they absolutely *hate* - because I want to wait until car drivers have adjusted to the roads and the winter conditions.
Though, when I let one of the females out this morning - she can't go farther than the border of the garden because of the electric cat fence - she didn't even do her thing... just came right back in! ^*gg*

*grin* They get so indignant, don't they, when there's deep snow? And woe betide you if they see you laughing at their delicate disgust! Two of mine hate being kept in too, oh the drama if I ever have to lock the cat flap! Endless meowings and scratching and fussings.

Nov. 29th, 2010 12:10 pm (UTC)

Yes, they do! Right now, three of my four are constantly outside my office door, pestering me to finally let them out. But there's more snow coming and I'm not letting them out there!
So they piss into the corner, scratch at my door, throw things off shelves and basically just make a total annoyance of themselves.

And when you let them out, they walk two steps, lift up their paws and *look* at you as if they were saying "what the F...K kind of weather is *THIS*??? Did *you* order this? You will die for this!!!"

Oh yes, I'm distressingly familiar with being punished for inclement weather. That long, level stare which promises horrors which you cannot even imagine for daring to make it cold/wet/windy/insert feline displeasure inducing weather conditions here. No pissing from mine, fortunately, but it's amazing how much mischief 4 bored cats can get into as you well know!
Nov. 29th, 2010 12:23 pm (UTC)
Ahahaha... yes, you *do* know what they are like! *gg*

Well, we have carpet here on the first floor, and that's a prime target for kitty displeasure. *sigh*

One of these days, I'm going to rip it all out... one of these days.

Ye Gods, yes! I think they spend all the time that they supposedly sleep just thinking up new devilments that they can visit on their poor food providers... >.>

Cloud: "SNOW!"

Be warned, you may find Cloud gleefully romping about your neighborhood now.
Nov. 29th, 2010 03:25 pm (UTC)
I *thought* I'd seen something blond hopping around in the snow here... ^___^
Nov. 29th, 2010 03:35 pm (UTC)
I hope he and Seph don't frighten your neighbors. :)
Nov. 29th, 2010 03:38 pm (UTC)
Oh... my neighbors are already in their kitchens, and living rooms, thinking about dinner... they don't see anything. ;)

(We have lots of retired people around here...)

And all those gusts of snowladen wind effectively hide the two snow-lovers. ^^ Especially Seph... you almost can't see him in the twilight snow... Only the bright yellow bouncing all over... that you can't miss...

Ah, I had forgot about the time difference. :) It's late morning here, so Cloud is full of energy.

^____^ The sun is just going down. We're having a nice sunset since the upper part of the sky is clear and turning violet, and the lower part is obscured by snow-heavy cloud banks... If it stays like this, then we'll have a *very* cold night...

*breaks into song* Whiiiite winter woooonderland...! XXD

That looks gorgeous, but very very cold!
Nov. 30th, 2010 07:57 am (UTC)
It *is* very cold. We had a clear night and this morning, there's frost on everything. *brrrr*

But the sun coming into my bedroom window this morning was glinting off the snow and it was *bright*! ^___^

Maybe I'll bundle up and take a few pictures later...

Ick. O_o I'm so not ready for winter....
Dec. 2nd, 2010 09:29 am (UTC)
Just shovelled the sidewalk, again! And it looks like more is coming. I have no idea where to *put* the stuff, since on one side there's the hedge, on the other the road. So I have this little wall of snow piled up at the edge of the sidewalk.

I'm not really a fan of winter... Definitely not.
