Big Bang in the Lab!

For the first time in history, the Big Bang - the collision of atomic particles - has been simulated in a laboratory environment!

After years of preparation and setbacks, the LHC underneath Genf has finally worked as planned - the first particles have collided and provided the attending scientists with new and fascinating data.

And since the reports are still coming in, the scientists are alive and well and have not been swallowed up by artificially created suns, black holes, space-time continuums or wormholes. :)
